We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2010 Google Online Marketing Challenge has started!
The 2009 Challenge had over 10,000 students in 57 countries competing… we hope that you enjoyed taking part in the Challenge last year and that you learned a lot about online advertising!
This year we are back with some new features, like the possibility of sending the reports in 14 languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese,Polish, Hungarian, Turkish, Czech and Hindi.
“Students have first hand experience with real clients and real budgets to get real results. Is there a better way to gain experience with the real world?”
How it works
This does not change! Any professor at any higher education institute registers a student team. Students can be any class, graduate or undergraduate, regardless of discipline.
Student teams receive US$200 of free online advertising with Google AdWords and then work with local businesses to devise effective online marketing campaigns. Teams outline a strategy, run a campaign, assess their results and provide the business with recommendations to further develop their online marketing. Teams submit their reports and are judged by a panel of independent academics from all over the world.
Advantages of the Challenge
This is not a simulation. Students gain real-world experience with a real client and clients gain free advertising and Internet consulting. Google provides US$200 in AdWords, teaching materials and other resources.
